Fifteen year old Tamara Woodson enters a journey of self-discovery in the 1883 Kansas community her family founded as homesteaders.
Her rebellious spirit and independent thinking lead her to explore different possibilities for her life, far from the protection of her close-knit community.
Exposure to the Apache culture helps Tamara validate the values and traditions of others as well as her own.
Through the strength and love of her family and community, and her growing knowledge about her ancestral past, Tamara gains an inner strength to release her fears and begin a journey of self-discovery.
